• API Request Details: When the Extension is in "Collect All APIs" mode, it logs information about web API requests initiated by the browser. This includes:

  • Request Type (e.g., XMLHttpRequest, script)

  • Status of the request (e.g., Completed, Blocked, Error)
  • Initiator URL (the webpage or script that initiated the request)
• Extension Settings: User-defined preferences, custom blocking/allowing rules, and the selected operational mode.

2. Data Storage

All data collected by the Extension, including API request details and user settings, is stored **locally within the user's Chrome browser** using the chrome.storage.local API. This means that your data resides entirely on your device and is not accessible by us or any third party.

The collected API request logs are limited by a maximum collection size (defaulting to 200 requests, configurable by the user). Once this limit is reached, older requests are automatically removed to make space for new ones.

3. Data Usage

The locally stored data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• To display API request logs in the Extension's popup interface.
• To perform real-time analysis (e.g., top initiator pages, status breakdown) within the Extension's popup.
• To apply user-defined blocking or redirection rules to network requests.
• To persist user settings and preferences across browser sessions.

The Extension does not use this data for tracking, advertising, or any other purpose outside of its stated functionality.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

The Extension **does not share, sell, or disclose any collected user data or API request information with any third parties** or external servers. All operations are confined to your local browser environment.

5. User Control and Data Management

Users have full control over their data within the Extension:

• Clearing Logs: Users can clear all collected API request logs at any time from the "Collected Requests" tab within the Extension's popup.
• Deleting by Category: Users can delete specific categories of collected requests (based on initiator URL).
• Exporting Data: Users can export all their extension settings and collected logs as a JSON file for backup or personal use, via the "Settings" tab.
• Importing Data: Users can import previously exported settings and logs.
• Disabling Collection: Users can disable API request collection by setting the operational mode to "Block/Redirect Specific APIs" or "Allow Specific APIs", or by globally disabling the extension.

6. Permissions Used

The Extension requires the following permissions to function. These permissions are strictly used for the stated purposes of monitoring, controlling, and analyzing API requests locally:

• storage: To save user settings, rules, and collected API request logs locally.
• webRequest: To observe and collect details about web requests when in 'collect' mode.
• declarativeNetRequest: To efficiently block or redirect web requests based on user rules.
• declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess: To enable declarativeNetRequest rules to apply across all host domains.
• downloads: To allow users to export their settings and collected logs as a downloadable file.
• host_permissions: <all_urls>: This broad host permission is fundamental for the extension's primary function to monitor, block, or redirect API requests on any webpage the user visits. Without this, the extension would not be able to apply user-defined rules or collect data across the web.
